I was neither willing nor able to pay for any college applications and without Career Compass, I would not be college bound. It's a shame seeing people who miss out on a college education simply because of the lack of money and that is why I commend Career Compass on what they are doing. They ease the pressure of paying for college. Programs like Career Compass are exactly what communities like ours need and I promote the continuation of any program that provides this service.

Career Compass has helped me tremendously. Every time they were at my school I made it a point to talk to them. They assisted me with choosing the right college for me. Any question I had about the process they were there to answer it. Without them I honestly do not know where I would stand in regards to college.

Career Compass has played a great roll in my life. They paid for me to take the ACT and for my application to Southern. They were with me every step of the way. They always asked me if I needed help with anything and to not be ashamed to ask. They were down to earth and really understood my desire to make something of myself. I can honestly say that had it not been for them I would not have gotten into Southern.

Career Compass is a God send! They helped me a ton my senior year! Career Compass made sure I was on track as far as graduation and for my future endeavors. For, example my coach, who worked with me at McKinley High helped me pay my application fee for college and, when I got accepted she was one of the first people I told! So, I feel that every year in one way or another Career Compass touches a life and helps someone follow a dream! Thanks for all that you all have done!

Career Compass has been a great help to me. I finally feel like someone wants to help me. They have done so much to help me and a lot of the students here, and we all appreciate them very much.

Career Compass helped me pay for my ACT and apply to the college I desired, and they broke down every single aspect about preparing for college. They've been such a help that I was one of the first seniors to be accepted into a four-year college. When somebody comes up to me and asks me who can help them prepare for college, before I say teachers, counselors, or other school personnel, I say Career Compass.

As a senior at Woodlawn High, Career Compass has helped me greatly. They have helped me fill out my application for OLOL, paid my application fee and also helped me with FAFSA. I truly appreciate their help and time.

Career Compass has been very helpful to me this school year. Career Compass has not only assisted me in registering for the ACT, but also paid for it. They have helped me obtain information about financing college, including filling out my FAFSA and searching for scholarships. The guidance and encouragement they have given me has made me feel more secure about these important decisions for my future.

This program is amazing. I was fascinated with it from my first day hearing them speak about it and now I am more fascinated with how much help and how nice Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Scott are. Career Compass is very helpful and I appreciate and thank God for them. I know if other kids are given this chance, they will too.

WHAT DO THE STATISTICS SHOW ABOUT COLLEGE GRADUATES?

Only 46% of Louisiana high school graduates enter a post-secondary school when they graduate. Only 13% will earn a 2 or 4-year degree within six years.

99% of the students who work with Career Compass applied to and/or were accepted to a post-secondary school they could successfully attend beyond high school graduation. And of that number, 80% are still attending school!
