Letters of Support
"It is with great pleasure that I endorse Career Compass of Louisiana and proudly partner with them in their efforts to improve both the lives of the students of our parish and the workforce of the Baton Rouge area. Education is a key issue in East Baton Rouge Parish, and I firmly believe in a partnership between the Mayor's office and an organization that promotes and facilitates access to post-secondary education.
I fully expect Career Compass to become a permanent fixture in the Baton Rouge community. I encourage area businesses and community foundations to partner with this organization, and I look forward to hearing about their continued success."
-Melvin L. "Kip" Holden
Mayor-President, East Baton Rouge Parish

"I can attest to the fact that Career Compass is succeeding in its mission to target the disadvantaged students and assist them in achieving a post-secondary education. They have build meaningful relationships with our students and have helped the students with all aspects of applying to a post-secondary institution. The students know Career Compass as part of our school and look to them for guidance, mentoring, and moral support. Many of these students are young adults who do not have the support at home and otherwise would not receive this needed help."
-Jimmy Newman
Woodlawn High School Principal
"Career Compass has found a niche here at Broadmoor and we appreciate all they have done for our students. With the limited time guidance counselors can spend advising the students, plus the fact that many students do not have support at home, the work of these two ladies is necessary and greatly appreciated among the students and faculty here. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Career Compass of LA program to any other high school."
-Dary Glueck
Broadmoor High School Principal
"Speaking from a school counselor's point of view, Career Compass has provided invaluable assistance this year. They have been able to provide juniors and (especially) seniors with pertinent information that helps them move on to various higher education opportunities."
-Jeana Womble
Broadmoor High School Counselor
"To some students, the process of applying for school and taking the ACT is remote and unfamiliar. However, with the guidance and resources of Career Compass many of our students are moving from 'considering school' to actually applying for the ACT and 'getting into school'. I look forward to working with Career Compass for years to come."
-Charles Scarbrough
Broadmoor High School Teacher
