About Us
The mission of Career Compass is to assist and guide high school students by enlightening, encouraging, and empowering them to pursue post-secondary training. By targeting area high school students, Career Compass improves both the quality of life for these students and ultimately the workforce of Louisiana.
It is our philosophy that that the more young adults we can connect with before high school graduation, the more young adults we can successfully prepare for life, and the better the Louisiana workforce will be.
The overall college-going rate for public high school graduates in Louisiana for the Fall 2008 semester was 46%.
Currently only about 13% of Louisiana high school students obtain post-secondary degrees within six years of graduation.
98% of the students Career Compass worked with last year either applied to and/or were accepted to a post-secondary school
